Joe Biden Says Too Much May 18. 2009
Vice President Joe Biden said too much last week. During a speech, he revealed the precise secret location of the Vice Presidential bunker, where he would have to hide in the event of an attack. I think it's hilarious. Poor thing. If something happens now, you know his butt is gone, having revealed where he will be hiding. They're going to have to change the hiding place. What's the point of Vice President Joe Biden? May 16, 2009 - I only ask because of a couple of Joe Biden items today. In the first, the LA Times's Top of the Ticket notes that the Vice President has nothing at all on his schedule this weekend. In the second, Stephen Hayes of the Weely Standard picks up on an anecdote from Eleanor Clift on Newsweek about remarks Biden made at the Gridiron dinner in which he appeared to blow the gaffe on his predecessor Dick Cheney's undisclosed location. Turns out that Cheney would hide out in a secret bunker under his residence (now Biden's) at the Old Naval Observatory. As Hayes notes, that was almost certainly certainly highly classified information. So will Biden face prosecution? Probably not. Perhaps his punishment will be to have no undisclosed location in the event of a terrorist attack so he'll have to take his chances along with the rest of us. Maybe when Obama heads for the hills he'll tell Biden to just hang out in the Oval Office. To answer the original question, perhaps Obama named Biden as his running mate just to keep us all amused.

She bring us an enlightening one here regarding the (quote) undisclosed location (unquote) we heard lots about in the days after Sept. 11. Here's Eleanor: Ever wonder about that secure, undisclosed location where Dick Cheney secreted himself after the 9/11 attacks? Joe Biden reveals the bunker-like room is at the Naval Observatory in Washington, where Cheney lived for eight years and which is now home to Biden. The veep related the story to his head-table dinner mates when he filled in for President Obama at the Gridiron Club earlier this year. He said the young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment... |
