Jamaican Gold Medalist Usain Bolt To Play Basketball In The Off Season September 19. 2012 Usain Bolt Jamaican gold medalist, Usain Bolt, is enjoying his down time during the off season, after sprinting to new world records at the London 2012 Olympics this past summer in England. Bolt has fielded offers to play cricket in Australia, football (soccer) in England and his latest endeavor is basketball in New Zealand, in conjunction with Gatorade, one of his sponsors. Bolt has signed on for a basketball exhibition game in Auckland New Zealand with the Breakers. Maybe he should ask fellow gold medalists Lebron James or Shaq for some tips.
It is clear he is really enjoying himself, while traveling the world. The Breakers issued a statement regarding the scheduled October 8, 2012 event, "We are stoked to partner with Gatorade, and every player is buzzing about the opportunity to meet Usain Bolt and launch the relationship in a special way. Certainly the boys are looking forward to the chance to warm up with the fastest man on Earth."
