 Iranian Protests Continue

Video: Mousavi supporters stage another march in Iran - ITN NEWS

Iranians continue to protest regarding the recent presidential election that has been fraught with fraud, according to news reports coming out of the country.

President Mahmoud Amhadinjad, has accused the U.S. of "intolerable meddling" blaming the government for the protests, but I have to disagree with him on that one.

Yes, there have been incidents of former administrations meddling in the Middle East and other regions of the world, but I have seen no evidence to support that in this situation.

What I and others have seen is a flood of news reports from disenfranchised Iranians, complaining of voter fraud on networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Citizen journalists have submitted related video to international networks as well.

I do not know of one nation in the world, where everyday citizens would applaud people being robbed of their vote. It was bound to be a news story all over the world, once it filtered through to other parts of the globe.

Iran blames US for 'intolerable' meddling

June 17, 2009 edition - Istanbul, Turkey - Five days into the vast and sometimes violent street demonstrations over Friday's contested presidential election, Iran blamed the United States for "intolerable" interference in its domestic affairs.

President Barack Obama had specifically said he was avoiding being seen as meddling, saying it was "not productive, given the history of US-Iranian relations."

State television has portrayed the violence at rallies supporting defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi as the act of "hooligans." But as more video footage and news of peaceful daytime rallies and violent nighttime clashes break out through the restrictions placed upon the foreign media in Iran (most of it reaching the world anonymously through YouTube and Twitter), the contours of the power struggle have been coming clearer.
