Hillary Clinton Accused Of Voter Fraud In Detroit After Machines Register More Votes For Her Than Registered Voters

December 15. 2016

Hillary Clinton

A report being carried on a number of websites reveals there was voter fraud in the City of Detroit, Michigan, as machines were corrupted and registered 37% more votes than there are registered voters on the rolls. Many are pointing the finger at Hillary Clinton, stating the machines were hacked, as this unusual occurrence occurred in a region she received 92% of the votes in the 662 that experienced problems.

It is being reported, "A Detroit election official reported that 87 of the city’s optical scanners broke on Election Day, which may have led to the over- or under-counting of ballots." Trump won Michigan anyway, but by a 10,000 vote margin, which would have been greater had it not been for the voting machine errors that occurred. It is worth looking into to prevent a similar event from happening in the future. For further reference please see: Hacking Democracy.

Michigan’s electoral integrity problems weren’t in Trump country

12:31 pm on December 14, 2016 - Earlier today, Ed examined the question of just what went so wrong for Hillary Clinton in Michigan on November 8th. Clearly a case can be made that Secretary Clinton failed to invest enough effort in securing the state and likely was taking it for granted, but that doesn’t mean that somebody wasn’t trying very, very hard to make sure she won. It’s going to be difficult to draw in absolute line from Point A to Point B, but some of the voting machines around the Detroit area were acting in what could only be described as a very peculiar fashion. In fact, in almost 250 Wayne County precincts, the optical scanner style voting machines recorded more votes than were actually cast. (Detroit News)

Voting machines in more than one-third of all Detroit precincts registered more votes than they should have during last month’s presidential election, according to Wayne County records prepared at the request of The Detroit News. Detailed reports from the office of Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett show optical scanners at 248 of the city’s 662 precincts, or 37 percent, tabulated more ballots than the number of voters tallied by workers in the poll books. Voting irregularities in Detroit have spurred plans for an audit by Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson’s office, Elections Director Chris Thomas said Monday.

The Detroit precincts are among those that couldn’t be counted during a statewide presidential recount that began last week and ended Friday following a decision by the Michigan Supreme Court. There were other problems with the voting records which hampered efforts at a recount, but these machines registering votes from imaginary people should be the real focus of the problem here. And while, as I said at the top, we’ll never know precisely who all of these fictional votes were cast for, it’s fair to at least point out that these were all precincts which Hillary Clinton won in a landslide. It would be surprising indeed to learn that the “extra” votes had all been cast for Trump. (And that’s putting it mildly.)...

What Jill Stein’s Recount Effort Actually Accomplished

12/13/2016 06:49 pm ET - In Wisconsin, the one state where Stein succeeded, a recount validated the original results. Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein’s attempts to recount the election results in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania are now over. Although Stein only secured a complete recount in Wisconsin, she is claiming to have won a victory for voters by exposing weaknesses in the voting system.

In fact, Stein’s greatest service may have been to validate the Wisconsin results ― and thus demonstrate that voting irregularities did not tip the election in Donald Trump’s favor. “I’d like to think that the public appreciates that as a result of the examinations that occurred, that the results were not corrupted in any way to create inaccurate results,” said Ned Foley, an election law expert at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. “The Wisconsin recount demonstrates that.”

Wisconsin completed a 10-day recount financed by the Stein campaign on Monday, resulting in an increase in Trump’s lead over Hillary Clinton from 22,617 to 22,748 votes. “For a state with a 20,000-vote margin to generate a change of 100 votes as a result of a recount is consistent with standard recount procedure,” Foley said.

By contrast, Michigan never completed its recount and Pennsylvania never even began one. The Michigan Supreme Court on Friday declined to hear the Stein campaign’s appeal of a lower court order halting the recount, permanently ending hopes for a statewide recount there. And on Monday, a federal judge also denied Stein’s request for a statewide recount and an investigation of vote tampering in Pennsylvania...

More than 10 percent of the voting precincts in the 22 Michigan counties that began the recount process, and about 60 percent of precincts in Detroit alone, could not complete the process because there was a discrepancy between the number of voters in the poll books and the number of ballots counted by the optical scanners. An obscure provision of Michigan law prevents a recount in those circumstances. A Detroit election official reported that 87 of the city’s optical scanners broke on Election Day, which may have led to the over- or under-counting of ballots.
