Harvey Weinstein In Denial Regarding Hollywood Turning On Him And Unwisely Uses Meryl Streep As A Legal Defense In Sexual Assault Lawsuit Prompting Her To Slam Him February 22. 2018
Harvey Weinstein and Meryl Streep Disgraced movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, 65, used to be one of the people who ran Hollywood through abusive, illegal strong-arm tactics and racketeering. People feared him, as he is a big bully in a cabal, who bragged about his political ties, corruption and threatened lives and careers in the same manner the mafia does to innocent people. There are people in Weinstein's circle connected to the mafia. The New York Times newspaper and New Yorker magazine ended Weinstein's reign in Hollywood, via explosive exposés published in October 2017. Now the man who used to hang out with presidents, presidential hopefuls and royalty, is now the biggest social outcast in Hollywood. Weinstein has also become box office poison. Despite the events that have unfolded, Weinstein is stuck in denial regarding the fact everyone he knows has turned on him, over allegations he raped, sexually assaulted and harassed over 100 famous and non-famous women. He is also being investigated for charity fraud and racketeering. However, Weinstein's state of denial is so strong that he used the name of Academy Award winning actress, Meryl Streep, as a legal defense in a class action lawsuit filed by six women he committed sex crimes against. Weinstein stated in his answer to the lawsuit that seeks class action status that Streep said of him, "(Weinstein) was exasperating but respectful with me in our working relationship, and with many others with whom he worked professionally." Street angrily responded to the news by stating he had no right to twist her words. The Associated Press reported, "In a blistering response Wednesday, she said misusing her statement, 'as evidence that he was not abusive with many OTHER women is pathetic and exploitive. The criminal actions he is accused of conducting on the bodies of these women are his responsibility and if there is any justice left in the system he will pay for them.'" Weinstein's lawyer also stated on his behalf, "Gwyneth Paltrow was not so offended that she refused to work with Weinstein again, nor did her career suffer as a result of her rebuffing his alleged advances." However, Weinstein is a liar. Directors have come forward speaking of Weinstein instructing them to blacklist actresses such as Ashley Judd And Mira Sorvino, among others (A Second Director Confirms The Weinstein Brothers Blacklisted Actresses Who Wouldn't Let Harvey Weinstein Sexually Assault And Rape Them ). Actresses lost parts in many movies because of Weinstein's ego in being rebuffed. Weinstein's misconduct in this regard cost actresses income and movie roles. Now he is losing millions in legal fees, criminal investigations and creative talent fleeing his company with their projects. I'm not sorry for Weinstein. For years he has ruined people's lives and careers, via rapes, sexual assaults, sexual harassment, blacklisting and violence. You reap what you sow. Weinstein put this evil out into the world and it has started coming back to him. It is richly deserved. STORY SOURCE Weinstein uses quotes from female celebrities in his defense LOS ANGELES (AP) — Harvey Weinstein wants a judge to dismiss a federal sexual misconduct lawsuit against him and invoked the words and actions of Oscar-winning actresses including Meryl Streep in his defense. Lawyers for the disgraced film mogul said Tuesday in federal court in New York that the proposed class-action lawsuit filed by six women should be rejected because the alleged assaults took place too long ago and they failed to offer facts to support claims of racketeering. Weinstein was one of the most powerful men in the movie industry before allegations that began emerging in October dethroned him and unleashed a torrent of sexual misconduct accusations that spread far beyond the entertainment industry. His lawyers cited comments made by Streep in a statement she released last October saying Weinstein had always been respectful in their working relationship. In a blistering response Wednesday, she said misusing her statement “as evidence that he was not abusive with many OTHER women is pathetic and exploitive.” “The criminal actions he is accused of conducting on the bodies of these women are his responsibility,” Streep continued, “and if there is any justice left in the system he will pay for them.”...
