George W. Bush's Farewell Faux Pas January 12. 2009
It's amazing that George W. Bush is able to laugh and joke as America falls further in a financial and social downward spiral he allowed to reach this terrible juncture. He leaves behind an idiotic legacy replete with quotes such as,
" 'Sometimes you mis-underestimated me': George Bush gives his FINAL presidential press conference George Bush bowed out at his final White House press conference declaring he was a 'mis-underestimated' president. After eight years of verbal slip-ups, he couldn't resist one last 'Bushism' to send a shudder through lovers of the English language. With the eloquent Barack Obama waiting in the wings, the departing president left America cringing during a last attempt to rescue his battered legacy... Top ten Bushisms from the past eight years: * ‘I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.’ September 2000 in Michigan. * “Rarely is the question asked, is our children learning?” January 2000 in South Carolina. * ‘They mis-underestimated the compassion of our country. I think they mis-underestimated the will and determination of the commander in chief, too. September, 2001 in Virginia. * ‘I want to thank the dozens of welfare-to-work stories, the actual examples of people who made the firm and solemn commitment to work hard to embetter themselves.” April, 2002 at the White House. * ‘There’s an old saying in Tennessee – I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee – that says, fool me once, shame on – shame on you. Fool me – you can’t get fooled again.’ September, 2002 in Tennessee. * ‘Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.’ August, 2004 in Washington. * ‘Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB/GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country.’ September, 2004 in Montana. * ‘And they have no disregard for human life.’ July, 2008 at the White House. * ‘I remember meeting a mother of a child who was abducted by the North Koreans right here in the Oval Office.’ June, 2008, in the Rose Garden. * ‘This thaw - took a while to thaw, it's going to
take a while to unthaw.’ October, 2008, in Louisiana. |
