George Koh Sentenced To 25-Years In Prison For Killing Modeling Rival Harry Uzoka

24-year-old George Koh has been sentenced to 25-years in prison for the murder of fellow model Harry Uzoka, aged 25. The murder occurred on January 11, 2018 in the London town of Shepherd’s Bush. Nigerian born Uzoka was the top black male model in Britain, appearing in campaigns for Dior, Mercedes Benz and Everlane, among others.

Koh, a successful model himself, felt threatened by Uzoka’s sudden rise in the industry. Uzoka had also landed a role in a film he was set to appear in before he was murdered. Koh had begun engaging in disturbing stalker behavior towards Uzoka, a man he perceived as an enemy and rival. Uzoka, for his part, showed Koh no animosity. Uzoka became alarmed when Koh began ripping off his looks, image and career moves.

Things reached boiling point when Koh lied in stating he had sex with Uzoka’s girlfriend, model Ruby Campbell. In private DMs (direct messages) on the social networking site Instagram.com, the two men argued over Koh’s claim regarding Campbell.

They agreed to have what Uzoka thought would be a fist fight to settle their dispute brought on by Koh’s questionable behavior. However, Koh brought two lawbreaking friends to the fight and all three men were armed with large knives. Uzoka brought the rod from a gym barbell and was accompanied by a friend.

Uzoka, who tried to flee when he realized Koh and his accomplices brought knives, was fatally stabbed in the chest during the fight near his London home. Koh’s accomplices Merse Dikanda, aged 24, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 22-years for the murder and Jonathan Okigbo, aged 24, was given 14-years in prison, after being found guilty of manslaughter in the case.

This entire tragedy was so unnecessary and preventable. It is a reminder of how dangerous jealousy can be. Two successful young men’s lives are ruined - one is dead and the other is in prison for a long time. None of this should have happened. They had made it in life and were living well.

Let this tragic tale be a lesson to you. Don’t be greedy. Be thankful for what you have and don’t meddle in what the next person is doing. Stay in your lane. Worry about your own life and business. Do not try to take down people you jealously perceive as enemies, because it is wrong and it will come back to you.

Be secure in yourself and don’t covet other people’s possessions or their success. Work hard for your own success and be grateful for what you achieve in life. That is the key to satisfaction and contentment. Knowing you did your best, not destroying the best.
