The Fox network has cancelled the Lee Daniels
television shows “Empire” and “Star” in the fallout of the Jussie
Smollett scandal. The news came as a shock to actors on the show,
who are now out of a paycheck, because Smollett lied about a
homophobic, racist hate crime that never occurred.
Smollett paid two of his friends from “Empire” to
help him stage the sick hoax, then filed a false police report
stating two white male Trump supporters beat him up, doused him in
bleach, and issued homophobic and racial slurs. Daniels knew
Smollett was lying all along but went along with it, wrongly
believing it would create public sympathy for gay people such as
himself and Smollett and provide a ratings boost.

There have been criminal cases regarding
mentally disturbed gay men harming themselves then reporting it as

false police complaint is a crime in many countries. Do not do it.
Former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife
have gotten Smollett out of criminal charges associated with this
misconduct in filing the false police report, but the public is very
angry over what transpired (The Obamas And Jussie Smollett Have Imperiled The Job Of Chicago

Smollett and company are now outcasts. Fox is trying to distance
itself from the disgrace by cancelling the shows.
