Former Boxing Champion Victor Ortiz Arrested For Rape

Former boxing champion, Victor Ortiz, who appeared in the copyright infringing film “Southpaw” has been arrested in California for rape. The warrant was issued on Monday and Ortiz turned himself in to authorities. The charges are “forcible rape” “forcible oral copulation” and “forcible digital penetration.” The woman’s name has not been released. Ortiz posted $100,000 bail and was released pending trial.

Ortiz stated on social networking, “The truth will rise above falsehood as oil above water.” Ortiz’s televised 10-round fight that was scheduled to take place in Ontario, California, against fellow welterweight, John Molina Jr, has been cancelled in light of his arrest. His first scheduled court date is October 10, 2018.
