'Deadpool' Actress Taylor Hickson's Face Slashed Open In Gory Accident On Horror Film Set Leading To Lawsuit March 9. 2018
Taylor Hickson in the hospital 20-year-old Canadian actress, Taylor Hickson, has filed a lawsuit against the ironically named, Incident Productions, regarding a ghastly accident on the film set of the demonic horror film "Ghostland." The incident occurred in December 2016, during filming in her native Canada. Hickson was left with painful injuries and disfigurement, giving rise to the lawsuit.
Taylor Hickson's face post injury reveals a large scar on the left side of her face The lawsuit stated Hickson was required to film "an emotionally charged scene" necessitating she stand "with her face near or against the glass in a door, pound it with her fists." The director, Pascal Laugier, repeatedly ordered Hickson to pound the glass door harder, which resulted in it shattering and "Hickson's head and upper body to fall through the door and shards of glass." Hickson was taken to the hospital and given 70 stitches.
Taylor Hickson sporting a scar from on-set injury Hickson has been left with a very prominent scar on her face, hampering her ability to get acting roles. That is devastating for an actress, because as with modeling, looks play prominently into one's work. Hickson has legitimate reason to be upset and the lawsuit is valid. The director acted improperly and that recklessness is the proximate cause of her injuries.
Taylor Hickson prior to accident Most film productions are insured. It will be a matter of fighting the insurance company to pay for her injuries. The director may be on the hook with the insurance company, as his behavior can be deemed reckless endangerment. He didn't even use fake breakaway glass. He used real glass and demanded the actress engage in a dangerous act (or likely face being fired). Asking an actress to pound on real glass was very reckless. When Hickson fell through the glass, it could have sliced an artery and killed her.
