Many people are taken aback at Cleveland Cavaliers owner, Dan Gilbert and the astonishing rant he launched, against his former basketball player, Lebron James (click here for the rant).

Gilbert slammed and degraded James with such anger, malice and hatred, in the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper, for signing with the Miami Heat, many are concerned about him taking revenge on the young basketball player.

Gilbert has made an enormous amount of money off James, far greater than what he paid to sign him to the team. James gave the Cavaliers several great seasons, bringing hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue to the team, via ticket sales, merchandising and advertising.

The nature of professional sports is any athlete can be traded or voluntarily leave, to sign with a new organization, at various intervals. Certainly, Mr. Gilbert knows this. His undignified, vicious rant made it appear as though James was personal property, like Kunta Kinte and had run away.
