Court Gives Child Rapist Joint Custody Of Child Born Because He Raped And Impregnated A 12-Year-Old Girl October 9. 2018
Christopher Mirasolo 27-year-old convicted sex offender, Christopher Mirasolo, has been awarded joint custody of an 8-year-old boy, who was conceived when he raped a 12-year-old girl when he was 19. A recent DNA test has confirmed Mirasolo is the child's father, in a matter that was triggered by a request for public assistance for the 8-year-old boy. The New York Post is reporting, "The victim’s attorney, Rebecca Kiessling, is seeking protection for both the woman and her child under the federal Rape Survivor Child Custody Act." The victim's attorney Kiessling stated, "This is insane. Nothing has been right about this since it was originally investigated. He was never properly charged and should still be sitting behind bars somewhere, but the system is victimizing my client, who was a child herself when this all happened." Sanilac County Circuit Judge Gregory S. Ross should be removed from the bench or voted out for giving a pedophile, kidnapper and child rapist joint custody of the victim's underage son. Mirasolo is also a repeat sex offender, as he raped a second underage girl 2-years after he kidnapped and raped the aforementioned 12-year-old girl, who became pregnant from the sexual attack. It's shocking that no one used discretion and basic common sense in deciding custody in this case. What if Mirasolo starts to demand visitation and rapes his child. Then what. Another case of child rape that could have been prevented. Laws are too lenient in some jurisdictions, as Mirasolo served 6-months in jail for the first rape and 4-years behind bars for the second one. Those were small sentences for the terrible damage he caused. People who rape children should never be free. History has repeatedly shown that child rapists often reoffend when released. To release them from custody is to allow sexual predators to roam the streets, targeting people's children. The laws need to be changed.
