Courageous 80-Year-Old Woman In Wisconsin Pilots Plane After Husband Dies During Flight April 5. 2012
Brave 80-year-old Helen Collins assumed the reins of husband John Collins's small Cessna plane, safely landing the aircraft, after he suffered a fatal heart attack during flight. Aviation employees at Cherryland Airport in Wisconsin guided her on how to land the plane that was low on fuel, as she had no licenses or training.
