Couple Cancel Baby Adoption
When Informed They Are Not Permitted To Film The
Infant For Social Networking Leading To An Online
Backlash

Nikki and Dan Phillippi
Two social networking influencers
are under fire for canceling an adoption when they
were informed by the agency they are not permitted
to film the infant for use on social networking for
one year. Yes, I'm serious. This really happened.
A 2018 video of influencers Nikki
and Dan Phillippi has surfaced revealing they were
adopting a baby from Thailand. However, when the
adoption agency informed them they could not film
the child and put the baby on social networking for
one year, they changed their minds. The couple are
now the subject of a backlash on social networking.
The couple is also being slammed for
putting down their healthy 10-year-old Bull Terrier
dog, as he bit their son. They posted about putting
the dog to sleep, assuming it would bring sympathy,
but they received the opposite.
This is one of the reasons why I
keep expressing my dismay that so many kids want to
be influencers when they grow up. It has no
requirements, job skills or boundaries. If you can
make money honestly as an influencer, there's
nothing wrong with that. However, when it reaches
the point that influencers are setting a bad example
and eroding society's moral fiber, it's definitely
time for self-evaluation.
As stated before on the site,
everyone can't be an influencer. Society needs
scientists, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, teachers
and engineers, among other professionals, to run
properly.

Influencer couple under fire for cancelling
adoption due to 'social media' rules
Thu, May 13, 2021, 1:31 PM - YouTube
influencers Nikki and Dan Phillippi are in hot water
after a 2018 video titled "We're not adopting from
Thailand anymore" has resurfaced on social media.
In the 26-minute video, the couple
detailed the reason behind their decision not to
adopt a baby from Thailand. While the pair were
initially thrilled to adopt a child, they quickly
changed their minds after learning that they
wouldn't legally be allowed to share footage of the
child on social media for one year after adoption,
as per regulations mandated by the Thai government.
“When that hit we literally were
like ‘Oh what?’ So we were like going round the
houses like trying to figure out how this could work
like ‘Hashtag baby blur face,'" Nikki added. The
couple feared that by accidentally disregarding the
rules, they could ruin the adoption agency's
relationship with Thailand. "I almost Snapchatted
while I was signing an NDA once [sic],” Nikki said.
“I’m going to totally mess up, and then I’ll ruin it
for other families.”...
