Former child star Corey Haim, died today of an apparent prescription drug overdose, while staying with his mother in California. Haim, was know for a number of 80's films that launched his career. However, with success, came the trappings of fame.

Haim and his best friend of many years, Corey Feldman, like many Hollywood stars, became drug users, developing a costly habit and emotionally devastating addiction.

As someone who was a kid in the 80's, it's really sad to see Haim go in this manner. I often think kids are better off not getting into Hollywood, as it comes with a terrible lifestyle and has destroyed many. It's a cesspool of addiction and dysfunction. My condolences to his family.
