Pool safety is very important as many children and adults drown each year. It is a terrible event in a family's life. Children are particularly vulnerable to drowning. Two incidents featured on the news recently reveal the fact that some above ground pool manufacturers have released products with serious safety issues.

Some above ground pools have locked ladders with slots making it possible for children to climb into the pool. Other above ground pools have ladders that many children can easily climb, affording them access to the pool. Parents need to take the necessary precautions to properly secure their pools, in order to protect their children and others in the neighborhood, who may try to access the water. In ground pools can be made safer with fencing.
