Celebrities Avoided Ryan Seacrest Like The Plague On The Red Carpet At The Oscars After Sexual Assault Allegations March 5. 2018
Ryan Seacrest Yesterday, former “American Idol” host, Ryan Seacrest, was shunned on the red carpet at the Oscars, while doing interviews for the E! network, after his former stylist, Suzie Hardy, came forward with allegations that he sexually assaulted and harassed her on the job. A number of high profile entertainers avoided Seacrest on the red carpet, tanking his annual show. Most stars opted to go over to other outlets to be interviewed, foregoing Seacrest’s red carpet show. E! should have pulled Seacrest from the show to avoid the embarrassment that ensued. People on social networking repeatedly noted how celebrities were avoiding Seacrest. In light of what transpired yesterday, the Daily Beast website referred to Seacrest’s red carpet show as “extremely weird and embarrassing.” Indeed. Countless newspapers and blogs have also been covering the story, embarrassing Seacrest even further. Yea, it was one of those times he should have stayed home, rather than go out. Social networking is a sampling of public opinion and many do not believe Seacrest or those in his circle of Hollywood sexual harassers. The Daily Beast also stated of the on-air fiasco, "It must have been humiliating for Seacrest to watch his usual celebrity chit-chatters walk on by, and it must surely give E! and ABC pause for thought that silence and carrying on as normal are not really the best tactics to navigate this mess." Good point. Some of the people who run Hollywood are in denial at the fall from grace that is occurring in the industry and have decided silence is golden while "Rome burns" as the phrase goes. They do not want to say anything, as they believe it will give the issue more publicity. However, many in the public already know and have formulated their own unfavorable opinions on the scandals and it does not spell good news for people like Seacrest. STORY SOURCE Inside Ryan Seacrest’s Extremely Weird and Embarrassing Oscars Night 03.04.18 8:57 PM ET - Ryan Seacrest, immersed in scandal over sexual-assault allegations, decided to present E!’s Oscars red-carpet coverage. Sadly for him, big-name celebrities were not playing along. At 7:53 p.m. on Oscar night, Ryan Seacrest slinked back to the Roosevelt Hotel, where his E! Live From the Red Carpet co-anchor Giuliana Rancic was stationed beside the swimming pool—looking, like the watching audience at home, that she may at any moment begin screaming out of boredom and bemusement... Seacrest had not done a great job, he had done an excruciating one. If you want to know how excruciating, compare the flood of celebrities talking to ABC, compared to the trickle that stopped to speak to him. E!’s red-carpet show stop-started along for three terrible, painfully slow hours. RELATED ARTICLE |
