Bush Wants Government Out Of Corporate World Alexander The Great Or George The Late November 14. 2008
Dick Cheney (left) and George Bush (right) In a very predictable, overreaching move, George W. Bush has been lecturing everyone within earshot regarding deregulation. He stated, in his estimation “too much government” interference and regulation of the corporate world is not good. Says the man that deliberately left corporate America unregulated, leading to the worst financial crisis in modern times. You are in no position to lecture anyone on anything regarding running a successful economy. If someone wants to open a series on “How to mess up a nation without even trying” I’m sure your phone will ring off the hook. You don’t have the first clue about economics. Your presidency proved that. Thanks to you, what was the world’s top economy is crumbling and lamentably so. Your conduct bore no traits of a democracy. You behaved like a vicious, bloodthirsty dictator loving war and the spoils thereof. You tried to illegally steal and nationalize foreign oil (Iraq) and lumber (Canada), among other things, but it all backfired. You are not Alexander the Great, but George the Late. That’s late as in you missed the boat. Bush Warns Against `Too Much' Government in Markets (Update2) Nov. 13 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush today urged leaders of the world's biggest economies not to abandon free- market capitalism as they seek an escape from the financial crisis, calling it the ``best system'' for delivering growth. In a speech at the Manhattan Institute in New York before weekend talks among leaders from the Group of 20 nations, Bush said policy makers should resist the urge to meddle too much in markets as they seek to reverse the financial and economic turmoil now engulfing the world. ``History has shown that the greater threat to economic prosperity is not too little government involvement in the market, but too much,'' Bush said. ``Our aim should not be more government, it should be smarter government.'' |
