What some extremists fail to understand is many Muslims grow to love the Western way of life and seek to take charge of their own lives. It is especially prevalent among second generation Arab families, whose children grow up in the West and enjoy the freedoms it brings. Marrying one's relative is frowned upon in the West and most likely prompted their change of heart.
