6 adults and 12 children went to a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Naperville, Illinois, to celebrate a birthday, only to be treated in a disrespectful and racist manner. One of the regular customers of the restaurant is a racist, who does not wish to be seated near black people. As such, several employees decided to accommodate the racist at the expense of the 6 adults and 12 children, who are black and mixed race. 

Managers repeatedly tried to move them from the table they chose to sit, unbeknownst to them next to the racist regular, giving a variety of excuses. They had even been told the table they sat at is reserved, but the restaurant does not accept reservations. A waitress then outrageously asked the group consisting of people of color, "What race are you guys?" Then they finally told the group of adults and kids that one of their regulars does not want to be seated at a table near black people. At that point, the family left the restaurant in disgust.

As the story went public and began gaining traction this week, Buffalo Wild Wings headquarters fired the employees in question. However, I do not think that is enough. The employees and customer who made the foul request should be brought up on criminal charges for violating the Civil Rights Act. Their conduct was conspiratorial as well, in accommodating a racist's despicable and illegal request, at the expense of minorities. You cannot discriminate in a public restaurant based on a person's skin color/race.

African-Americans' labor built America and its economy during the brutal and heinous slave trade. In spite of slavery, segregation, assault, lynching and other acts of murder, the African-American people survived. They've never received their just due for all the wrongs done to them, but continue to fight for equality. Here we are in big old 2019, also known as modern times, and someone pulled this nasty stunt, trying to roll the clock back on the human rights of black people in America. This cannot be tolerated. The offenders must be brought to heel in a court of law, to serve as a reminder to other like-minded racists that criminal conduct has consequences.

Restaurant workers fired for favoring 'regular' customer

Some employees at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in the Chicago area have lost their jobs after an alleged incident of racism against a group of black customers.

The alleged incident happened last month at a Buffalo Wild Wings in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. Speaking to Chicago ABC station WLS, Justin and Mary Vahl of Montgomery, Illinois, said they arrived at the restaurant with their family and friends to celebrate a birthday when a host inquired about their race, saying a "regular" customer is seated next to their reserved table and doesn't want to sit near black people. But the couple told the host to seat their group there anyway.

After the group sat down, several other employees approached their table on separate occasions to try to get them to move, claiming their table is actually reserved for another party. They finally decided to leave for another restaurant and filed a complaint with upper-level management, the couple told WLS...
