Bill Cosby Found Guilty On Three Counts Of Aggravated Indecent Assault

April 26. 2018

Bill Cosby

Actor and comedian Bill Cosby has been found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault, regarding drugging and sexually assaulting female athlete Andrea Constand in 2004. The incident occurred in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, where the comedian has a home, and the date of the sexual assault falls within the statute of limitations. It is one of the few cases prosecutors were able to bring against Cosby, who is now 80-years-old, after decades of allegations regarding him drugging and raping women.

Cosby faces up to 10-years in prison on each count. This mean Cosby could spend the rest of his natural life in prison. When the verdict was read and he was labeled a flight risk, due to having a private plane, Cosby angrily stood up and stated, "He doesn't have a plane, you a**hole." Cosby is now on bail and house arrest until sentencing. His lawyer intends to appeal the verdict. However, for the many women who have accused him of sexual assault and rape, this is unquestionably a victory.

To make an accusation of criminal behavior against a wealthy public figure, especially those in Hollywood, is very difficult. They use their financial resources and connections to defame victims, cost them their jobs, housing and savings. However, everyone deserves justice. An example must be made of these lawbreaking celebrities, such as Cosby and Harvey Weinstein, among others, who believe they are above the law and are allowed to harm others.
