In the June 18, 2021 article "The U.S. Economy Is In Freefall Due
To The Coronavirus Pandemic And President Joe Biden's Policies"
I stated, "I'm of the belief many Americans are
scared to work in restaurant jobs at this time,
due to higher rates of exposure to the
coronavirus, while being in contact with so many
customers each day (who have to remove their
masks to eat)."
The above posted video that was
recently released revealed something similar.
I've also realized via items I've read by
members of the public on social networking,
people do not want to work themselves into the
ground for poor wages and under bad working
conditions.
During coronavirus lockdown
people had the opportunity to reevaluate their
lives. People saw more clearly than ever what is
important to them. People then began making
changes to live what they deem is a better life.
People began pursuing the kinds of jobs they
want or starting their own businesses.
Employers now must raise the bar
to improve working conditions and workplace
attitudes that cause so many so much stress. No
one wants to work for a nasty employer with a
foul attitude and lack of compassion.
There are so many laws in place
that require employers to act with decency and
integrity (yet so many don't). These laws are
not suggestions. They are compulsory and legally
binding. No one wants to work in a hostile work
environment.
Employers are legally required
to treat employees in a humane fashion, not work
people into the ground, fail to properly
compensate them, provide terrible working
conditions, and be verbally, mentally and or
physically abusive. That's illegal.
Stop behaving like people can't
do any better in life and therefore you can
treat them anyway you feel like, because that
unethical behavior will come back to you. I've
seen people rise then fall treating their
employees and business associates like garbage.
It doesn't inspire loyalty.
If you want to attract
employees, start improving your workplace, work
rules and treatment of others. No one wants to
be overworked and underpaid. People have a life
and as their employer you do not own it.
Employers need to stop treating
employees like livestock and realize people have
feelings, needs and lives outside of work. Be
professional. Treat employees with respect.
Improve working conditions and pay. Give people
good reasons to come to work.
