Madison Brooks was raped by her friend who let another man do the same while she was drunk

19-year-old Louisiana State University (LSU) student, Madison Brooks, went to a Baton Rouge bar on January 15, 2023, and got drunk.  She was three times over the legal limit. She was seen leaving the bar at 1:50AM with four men, one of whom was a minor of 17-years.

The two charged with rape are 18-year-old Kavion Washington and an unnamed 17-year-old. The two charged as accomplices to third degree rape are 18-year-old Casen Carver and 28-year-old Everett Lee (the latter is Kavion Washington's uncle).

Two of the men illegally had sex with her in the back of the car while she was too drunk to consent. Carver stated the 17-year-old and Washington asked her to have sex with them and she said yes. However, under the law, someone who is three times over the limit is in no state to consent. Furthermore, why would you ask someone to have sex when you see them exiting a bar, slurring their words and staggering. That was very predatory behavior. They knew exactly what they were doing and it was taking advantage of a girl who had become drunk. A real friend would have taken her home to her parents, not raped her and allowed another person to do the same.

Madison was dropped off at 3:00AM and fatally struck by another vehicle. She had asked to be taken home and could not remember her correct address. She gave her rapists a few addresses. They left her at one of the addresses and didn't even wait to see if she went into the house. She later wandered into the middle of the street and was fatally hit by a ride share vehicle. Madison died at the hospital.

She is said to have used a fake ID at the bar, whose license is now suspended in the wake of her tragic death. Going drinking alone at a bar is not a safe thing to do. Some men are predators. They will take advantage of you if they think you are drunk or they will slip things into your drink to incapacitate you in order to facilitate sexual assault and rape.

Kaivon Washington, 18, and a 17-year-old male, who has not been named by police because he is a minor, have been charged with third-degree rape, according to charging documents obtained by The Washington Post. Casen Carver, 18, and Everett Lee, 28, are charged with principal to third-degree rape, meaning they were present but did not take part in the alleged crime.
