3-Year-Old Boy Shot And Killed In Miami At His Birthday Party (Videos)

Beautiful 3-year-old boy, Elijah LaFrance, was shot to death at his birthday party in Miami, Florida, this past Saturday at 8:00PM. The incident occurred on the eve of his 4th birthday. The family rented an Airbnb to throw a large pool party, attended by dozens of people.

There was an altercation outside the house and many shots were fired. Neighbors estimate three to four dozen shots were discharged, when a white van pulled up outside the property, and a man brandished a machine gun and began firing. The bullets hit the house and its occupants, in what appears to be a drug styled hit. Elijah and an unidentified woman at the party were shot. The unnamed woman is recovering in the hospital. However, Elijah died in the shooting.

Responding police discovered Elijah bleeding from the gunshot wounds. Opting to not wait for an ambulance due to the extent of the child's injuries, an officer rushed wounded Elijah to the hospital in his squad car. However, due to the severity of the damage the bullets inflicted on his little 3-year-old body, Elijah died.

It is infuriating that someone opened fire on a child's pool party. It is very vengeful and extremely personal, indicating someone at the event was being targeted. It was not a random shooting. I know the area the incident occurred. I used to live 10-minutes away from it. That is a safe, quiet neighborhood. They don't have drive-bys. The homes in that area are also worth several hundred thousand dollars to over one million.

CNS News Miami reported a witnessed stated, "How you gonna go and you see a party with children inside and you open fire on them. You are nothing but a coward. You are a coward. Soon as I walked outside, I saw this white truck driving by slow. I didn’t pay attention to it because it’s normal. My sister was outside with me and next thing we know, 'bam, bam, bam.' We heard the shots fired. A tree blocked my view but my neighbor across the street he saw everything, when a man pulled the machine gun and started shooting."

April 25, 2021 at 6:45 pm - MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami-Dade Police Department has identified the 3-year-old boy shot and killed at a birthday party in northeast Miami-Dade as Elijah LaFrance.

When officers arrived, they found a 3-year-old Elijah suffering from a gunshot would. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. A-21-year-old woman was also shot. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to be OK.

CBS4 was told the property where the shooting occurred is an Airbnb rental, which was booked to host the party. An altercation started outside of the house and shots were fired. Both Elijah and the woman, who has not been identified were found outside.
