20 Tons Of Cocaine Seized From Cargo Ship
Belonging To JPMorgan Chase Bank
July 29. 2019
JPMorgan Chase
U.S. authorities seized a cargo ship belonging to
JPMorgan Chase bank that contained 20 tons of cocaine, with a street
value of $1.3 billion dollars. The MSC Gayane vessel is owned by
JPMorgan Chase and operated by the Mediterranean Shipping Company of
Switzerland. It is the largest vessel seized in the history of the
U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Reports indicate the crew tried
to hide the cocaine shipment from authorities. This gives the
appearances they all knew the illegality of the cargo. Clearly the
Chase name was used to bring the goods in and without less scrutiny.
However, something went wrong with their illegal plan, as Border
Protection inspected the contents and found the drugs.

The hugely embarrassing incident has the public
questioning the integrity of JPMorgan Chase, as drug trafficking is
a very serious criminal offense. Just a few months ago, Chase was
excoriated in Congress regarding their questionable banking
practices and underpayment of the corporation’s employees. As bad as
that was, this incident takes the cake.
When people think of drug trafficking, they think of
El Chapo or Pablo Escobar, not a globally recognized banking
institution, who clearly have a lot to answer for regarding this
incident. Another question that needs to be asked is has this
happened before. No one casually brings in such a large quantity of
narcotics without having tested the waters first. They went from
JPMorgan Chase to JPMorgan Chapo.

Jul 11, 2019 - Another day, another hapless tale of
cocaine being seized by the authorities. As outlined in a CNN report
filed Wednesday, U.S. authorities in Philadelphia seized a cargo
vessel last month that was carrying nearly 20 tons of coke with a
projected value of around $1.3 billion. The twist of it all, per the
report, is that the ship in question is owned by a fund operated by
JPMorgan Chase.
Specifically, the MSC Gayane ship is among those
used as part of the bank's transportation strategy fund, utilized
for asset management. JPMorgan Chase, however, doesn't have any
"operational control" of the ship, which authorities further
described as being run by the Swiss-based Mediterranean Shipping
