13 People Dead And Over 100 Injured In Barcelona Terror Attack (Video) July 18. 2017
For the past week in Spain, people have been enjoying the wonderful football matches between La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, which dominated social networking and sports headlines. People were in good spirits. Then a terrible terrorist attack struck on Thursday killing 13 people and wounding over 100. Two terrorists used a van to mow down innocent people in the Las Ramblas tourist section of Barcelona, then fled the scene. The Prime Minister of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, labeled it "jihadi terrorism." ISIS has claimed credit for the incident, referring to the perpetrators as "soldiers of the Islamic State." Police have killed the perpetrators of the attack. My condolences to the people of Spain. May the victims rest in peace. These attacks must stop. There is no excuse for any of this. Innocent people are dying over things they have nothing to do with, which encroach upon their right to life, freedom and happiness. STORY SOURCE Catalan police say have killed perpetrators of 'terrorist attack' in Cambrils August 17, 2017 / 8:15 PM / 6 hours ago - MADRID (Reuters) - Catalan police said on Friday they had killed the perpetrators of a "terrorist attack" in the town of Cambrils, south of Barcelona, following a police operation. The operation came after a van attack in Barcelona on Thursday that so far has left 13 dead. The police did not say on Twitter how many people had died in Cambrils. Spanish media said police had killed at least three attackers... Deadly Barcelona attack is worst in a day of violence in Spain Updated 11:53 PM ET, Thu August 17, 2017 - (CNN)Spain saw one of its most violent days in recent memory as a spate of incidents throughout the country appeared to be connected to a terror attack Thursday in Barcelona that left 13 people dead and more than 100 injured. Authorities said they are working under the assumption that two other deadly events, a terrorist incident in the seaside city of Cambrils and a house explosion farther down the coast in Alcanar, were linked to the van attack in Barcelona that had ISIS taking credit. Also Thursday, two police officers in
Barcelona were hurt when they were hit by a car, but police
were unsure whether that was related to the other incidents. |
