Addressing Puerto Rico's Water Issues After Hurricane Maria

October 5. 2017

Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria

As discussed in previous articles, Congress needs to approve money for Puerto Rico to be rebuilt. Water is one of the most basic necessities in life. Clean drinking water is vital. New water purification systems will need to be installed, as Hurricane Maria polluted water in select locations in Puerto Rico.

As stated in the December 2, 2016 Judiciary Report article "After Years Of Reckless, Lavish Spending By Robert Mugabe And Wife Grace Mugabe Zimbabwe Is Running Out Of Money While The Poor Go Hungry" water tanks installed on homes can provide a crucial supply in the event of mainstream pollution issues. Water tanks are common in Jamaica and some parts of Britain. They collect and distill rain water for emergency use.

Congress also needs to help Puerto Rico with poultry and agricultural supplies to help them rebuild, because farming is key as discussed in the article "After Years Of Reckless, Lavish Spending By Robert Mugabe And Wife Grace Mugabe Zimbabwe Is Running Out Of Money While The Poor Go Hungry." I'm not stating Puerto Rico wasted money as Mugabe did, because they did not do so. However, that article was about helping struggling nations strengthen aspects of their financial foundation to help people who are struggling due to economic problems.
