Chase Bank recently sent out mailers to Washington Mutual customers informing them their bank has been acquired and absorbed into their company (JP Morgan). In the months to come, in a bid to avoid the horrible publicity associated with the name Washington Mutual, the name will be removed from the business, some of the branches closed and the remaining locations renamed Chase Bank. Good riddance to a horrible bank that preyed on immigrants, subjected black employees to racism and robbed consumers left, right and center.
