Coronavirus cases have risen in America, due to states administering more tests during the current Covid-19 crisis. Limited testing was available due to the lack of test kits. While there still exists a shortage, states have been receiving more test kits, enabling them to identify the infected.

New York has become the epicenter of the corona virus outbreak in America. As New York City is heavily populated and the nation’s top financial hub, with a significant amount of domestic and international air traffic through LaGuardia and Kennedy airports, it is the main factor in the increased number of infections.

The statistical profile of the coronavirus in America indicates there are 65,201 infections and 928 deaths thus far. Currently, 30,811 infections and 285 deaths from coronavirus have occurred in New York. The morgues in New York are near capacity.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

Officials have ordered residents to stay at home, in a bid at “flattening the curve.” However, after the stay at home order was put into effect, people flew out of New York anyway. This has angered Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis complained on television today that flights from China and Milan are not permitted to come into America at this time, yet New Yorkers, who live in America's most infectious coronavirus impacted state, have been flying into Florida in large numbers.

DeSantis complained that over 160-200 flights per day from New York continue to ferry residents to places such as Florida, despite the fact a stay at home order is in place. As Florida is largely populated by retirees, and ironically many of them are from New York, it poses a risk for the state's elderly residents.
