Drake Sues Universal Music Group
Over Kendrick Lamar Diss Track 'Not Like Us'
Wrecking His Rap Career

The song "Not Like Us" by rapper Kendrick Lamar has
severely damaged the career of fellow rapper Drake.
Unable to handle the criticism and insults that have
stemmed from the release of "Not Like Us" Drake has
chosen to sue Universal Music Group (UMG) for
releasing the song and will damage his career even
further.
The lawsuit specifically mentions Universal Music
Group's CEO, Lucian Grainge for aiding in what Drake
is trying to portray as faking a hit song. Drake
alleges in his lawsuit that UMG has inflated sales
by using bots to inflate sales on Spotify and
Apple's iTunes, a practice that is illegal. The Feds
arrested a man this year for using bots to inflate
streaming numbers of songs he made and uploaded.
Drake alleged third parties (hackers) were paid to
create bots to inflate the music streams of "Not
Like Us" which resulted in the track becoming the
fastest rap song to reach 300 million Spotify
streams. This is something that Jay Z, who hired
Kendrick to perform at the Super Bowl half time
show, has done for years (Music Industry Website Outs Jay Z On Falsifying His Album Sales

Drake also accused UMG of payola at radio stations
in reference to "Not Like Us." Drake also alleges
UMG offered the single "Not Like Us" at deeply
discounted rates to streaming companies, such as
Spotify. Drake further alleges UMG rigged Apple's "Siri"
to promote "Not Like Us." The lawsuit stated when
one asked "Siri" to play Drake's "Certified Loverboy"
the artificial intelligence instead played "Not Like
Us." Clearly the whole thing got under Drake's skin.
Drake via his lawsuit is exposing how fake the music
industry and Hollywood are to engage in such
practices to fake hits (practices that he too
ironically benefited from in the past). Drake is
trying to take Kendrick Lamar down by exposing the
chart rigging and inflated sales that buoyed "Not
Like Us."
As a result of this lawsuit Drake is being mocked by
music fans on social networking, stating he is the
only rapper to respond to a beef by filing a
lawsuit. Usually people just release more songs
countering what was stated in the previous track(s).
This lawsuit response by Drake is damaging his
career even more.
