British singer and five time Grammy Award winner, Amy Winehouse, was discovered dead today in her Camden, North London apartment. Paramedics pronounced her dead upon their arrival to her home. For years the gifted vocalist battled drug and alcohol problems that not only hampered her personal life, but her career as well. 

Winehouse sought solace in Kabbalah and for years refused to adhere to a full and proper rehab regimen, masking her pain with drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. It is a terrible tragedy that a young woman with so much to live for, has passed so suddenly and under such circumstances. It is regrettable Winehouse did not get the help she needed and fell in with people only out to exploit her, due to her fame. They were her enablers as well.
