Radio Station: Beyonce Losing Her Mind August 25. 2008
A popular Miami radio station
listened to by millions, came forth with the claim last week that Beyonce’s parents fear that she is losing her mind. T House Of Dereon Flops In other news, Beyonce and Tina Knowles' House Of Dereon fashion line has flopped according to several outlets. So many people in Hollywood put out fashion lines, clearly not realizing that designing clothes is hard work and requires a lot of creativity: NEWSWEEK: House of Dereon Should Be Dere-GONE! I hate to be a thorn in your side Ms. Knowles, but the numbers don't lie! It has been pretty apparent since it's inception, that H.O.D was going to tank in this market. The clothes are gaudy, over-the-top and rather pricey. Since the label had it's mega-debut on Oprah, it has not been selling. That just goes to show you that fashion will always prevail over style! Newsweek tends to agree with us: For every [celebrity clothing line] success story, there's a corresponding cautionary tale of a celebrity who overestimated his or her consumer appeal. Despite millions of dollars worth of media exposure, including a debut on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Beyoncé's House of Dereon line has failed to catch fire with consumers. No matter how famous the product's provenance, if it fails to impress women on its own merits it begins to resemble a cynical exercise in self-promotional marketing. August 12, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that the folks over at Newsweek magazine are now saying what millions of Black women have been saying for more than a year - that House of Dereon clothes ARE WHACK!! Well, they didn't say it quite like that - but almost. Here's the exact quote: For every [celebrity clothing line] success story, there's a corresponding cautionary tale of a celebrity who overestimated his or her consumer appeal. And all you Beyonce stans - before you call us haters - ask yourself this ... Do you know anyone that owns any House Of Dereon clothes??? |
