Harvey Weinstein Sexual Assault And Rape Victims Speak Out About Not Being Invited To The Golden Globes January 8. 2018
Harvey Weinstein Victims of Hollywood movie producer, Harvey
Weinstein, stated they were not invited to the Golden
Globes, held on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Weinstein has been
accused of sexual harassment, sexual assault and or rape by
over 100 famous and non-famous women. Yesterday’s Golden Globes promoted the
social networking hash tag and movement “Me Too” regarding
victims of sexual assault speaking out about their
respective ordeals. However, some of the main women who came
forward against Weinstein were not invited to the event. Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Rosanna Arquette and Mira Sorvino were not invited to the Golden Globes. Producers may have been fearful of what they would state, but it is that same attitude that allowed Weinstein to run loose and sexually assault and rape so many women. They should have been invited. The New York Post stated, "On Sunday, Argento tweeted to McGowan, 'No one should forget that you were the first one who broke the silence. Anyone who tries to diminish your work is a troll and an enemy of the movement. You gave me the courage to speak out. I am on your side until I die.' McGowan, 44, replied, 'And not one of those fancy people wearing black to honor our rapes would have lifted a finger had it not been so. I have no time for Hollywood fakery, but you I love, @AsiaArgento.'" The Post further stated, "Rosanna Arquette, who accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct, tweeted to a follower, 'No we weren’t invited. Annabella [Sciorra], Daryl [Hannah], Mira [Sorvino] … none of us were.' Arquette’s sister, Oscar winner Patricia Arquette, replied, 'That’s not cool-All of you should have been included. I wasn’t asked either but who cares! It’s great they are doing it & we will too!'" Former talk show host Oprah Winfrey spoke of
the sexual harassment, assault and rape incidents that have
occurred in Hollywood and proclaimed, “I want all of the
girls watching here now to know, that a new day is on the
horizon” and “we also know it’s the insatiable dedication to
uncovering the absolute truth that keeps us from turning a
blind eye to corruption and injustice.” This is ironic, as Winfrey and fellow talk show host, Ellen Degeneres, among others in Hollywood, knew what Weinstein and others have been doing to women for years, but opened up their television programs as a platform to promote products by these sick abusers of women. I spoke out before the scandal broke. So you mean to tell me Winfrey and Degeneres, who knew for a long time about one of the worst open secrets in Hollywood, couldn't have said something on one of their shows to help stop the madness that has been happening at the hands of Weinstein and others. It's one of the things I find most alarming about Hollywood, how they all just fall in line with the evil and say nothing. It’s only when this became a trend, due to Weinstein being exposed in the mainstream press (New York Times and New Yorker magazine), opening the floodgates, that Winfrey, Degeneres and others in their circle, began publicly showing these women support. They only champion women's rights when it is convenient to them and their careers. The truth is going to come out that select older, prominent female figures in Hollywood knew about the abuses for years and kept silent not out of fear, but for the sake of their own careers. STORY SOURCE Weinstein accusers claim they weren’t invited to Golden Globes January 8, 2018 | 2:16pm - Rose McGowan and Asia Argento accused Harvey Weinstein of rape, which acted as a catalyst for the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements — but they, like Marchesa gowns, were conspicuously absent from the 2018 Golden Globes. The women, along with several of Weinstein’s other accusers, claim that they weren’t invited to the event. “I can only speak for myself but not only I wasn’t invited to the #GoldenGlobes: nobody asked my opinion about #TIMESUP or to sign the letter,” Argento, 42, tweeted Monday morning. “I support @TIMESUPNOW even though I was excluded from it. Guess I am not POWERFUL or HOLLYWOOD enough. Proud to work behind the scenes.” On Sunday, Argento tweeted to McGowan, “No one should forget that you were the first one who broke the silence. Anyone who tries to diminish your work is a troll and an enemy of the movement. You gave me the courage to speak out. I am on your side until I die.”...
