FBI Agents Steal Rare Gold Coins In Brazen Defiance Of Judge's Search Warrant

June 3. 2021

FBI Director Christopher Wray

I've repeatedly stated on this site that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are nothing but a bunch of dirty, racist, slavetrading, bribe taking thieves (The FBI Is Stonewalling Congress On Releasing FBI File In Madonna Human Rights Abuse Case (Congressional Documents)). The FBI are so crooked they would rob Jesus then slide right into the hottest spot in hell for it.

This week an article was published concerning a case in Los Angeles, where the FBI defied a judge's warrant and stole gold coins from a private citizen. The FBI has been investigating U.S. Private Vaults in Beverly Hills, California. The company rents deposit boxes to the public, where people can store their valuables.

A judge granted the FBI a warrant to search the premises of U.S. Private Vaults, because they stated the owners were engaged in criminal activity. However, the judge clearly stipulated on the warrant that the FBI was not to open the safety deposit boxes or remove them from the premises.

The judge's warrant stated it "does not authorize a criminal search or seizure of the contents of the safe-deposit boxes" and it "authorize[s] the seizure of the nests of the boxes themselves, not their contents."

That's pretty clear and straight forward. However, the FBI is arrogant and lawless. They repeatedly steal other people's assets/property and do what they wish with it, in what can only be called disgusting, corrupt and felonious. The FBI didn't work for these assets, but all too often engage in criminal activity via stealing from others.

The FBI deliberately ignored the warrant and tore open all the safety deposit boxes, in criminal violation of the judge's orders. Now valuable items are missing from the safety deposit box, among them rare gold coins.

In attempts at excusing stealing items, the FBI lied in stating the contents of the safety deposit boxes are the proceeds of crime. However, they later admitted some of the boxes did not contain ill-gotten wealth.

One of the boxes contained rare gold coins and 40 of them have now gone missing. The FBI and its parent agency the Department of Justice (DOJ) have repeatedly lied in stating they will return the gold coins and heirlooms that were in the safety deposit box, but have refused to do so. Now the FBI is stating they can't find the gold coins, which looks suspect.

The gold coins and heirlooms belong to a doctor, who is identified only as "Dr. Lisa R." She has sued the government for the return of her property. The Reason website revealed the FBI acknowledged Dr. Lisa R's safety deposit box did not contain the proceeds of crime/ill gotten wealth, but the law enforcement agency is refusing to give the coins and heirlooms back that they illegally seized in March 2020 raid, in criminal violation of the judge's warrant.

The Reason website stated, "In a lawsuit filed on April 26, Linda R.'s attorneys argue that the FBI 'failed to account for or return' 40 gold coins worth an estimated $75,000 that had been stored in a safe deposit box housed at U.S. Private Vaults."

The Reason website further stated, "Department of Justice documentation detailing the contents of Linda's box makes note of 'miscellaneous coins' without any specific amounts or other identification of the coins—Linda's attorneys note that the description could apply to everything from a pair of pennies to a box full of 1933 double eagle gold coins, some of the rarest and most valuable coins ever minted. For now, it remains unclear whether the government even possesses an accurate accounting of what was in her safe deposit box when it was seized."

I'm of the belief the FBI and DOJ are having trouble returning the gold coins, because FBI agents stole and liquidated them. It is a felony to have done so, due to the value of the rare gold coins, and all involved deserve to go to prison for this thieving arrogance. However, the government has become so corrupt, FBI agents feel they can do whatever they wish and not be held accountable for their crimes.

The FBI Seized Heirlooms, Coins, and Cash From Hundreds of Safe Deposit Boxes in Beverly Hills, Despite Knowing 'Some' Belonged to 'Honest Citizens'

Eric Boehm | 5.10.2021 10:15 AM - Dagny discovered that the FBI had seized the contents of her safe deposit box—about $100,000 in gold and silver coins, some family heirlooms like a diamond necklace inherited from her late grandmother, and an engagement ring she'd promised to pass down to her daughter—almost by accident.

She'd been asked by a friend to recommend a convenient and secure location for keeping some valuables. Dagny searched Yelp to find the phone number for U.S. Private Vaults, a Beverly Hills facility where she'd rented a safe deposit box since 2017. That's when she saw the bad news...

Howard tells Reason there was no attempt made by the FBI to contact him, his wife, or their heirs—despite the fact that contact information was taped to the top of their box. Six weeks later, the couple is still waiting for their property to be returned. (Both individuals are supporters of Reason Foundation, the nonprofit that publishes this website.) ..

"It was improper that the government seized these possessions in the first place, unconscionable that they are using them as hostages to pressure owners to divulge private information, and outrageous that they apparently treated the possessions so carelessly that they seem to have lost at least some of them," Gluck tells Reason.

Jeffrey B. Isaacs, an attorney for another anonymous customer of U.S. Private Vaults—identified in court records as "James Poe"—tells the Los Angeles Times that the FBI's raid is "as illegal a search and seizure as I've ever seen."

For Dagny and Howard, the situation seems particularly cruel. They'd rented the box at U.S. Private Vaults after having their home burgled several years ago. They have the key and rental agreement for the box—and, Howard notes, they paid for the box with a credit card, hardly the sort of thing you'd do if you were trying to hide your identity from the feds or engage in criminal conduct. None of that has made a difference so far.

Because this time, the burglars wore badges.

See the FBI Dig Through an Innocent Woman's Safe Deposit Box

In a lawsuit, attorneys for the box's owner allege that federal agents conducted an illegal search that may have resulted in the loss of some valuable gold coins.

Eric Boehm | 5.26.2021 12:35 PM - Box 8309 was just one of the hundreds of safe deposit boxes that ended up in the government's possession when federal agents raided a private vault in Beverly Hills, California, on March 22.

Federal agents took those boxes, as Reason previously reported, even though they did not have a warrant for them or their contents. The business that housed them, U.S. Private Vaults, is suspected of conspiracy to distribute drugs, launder money, and avoid mandatory deposit reporting requirements.

But the unsealed warrant authorizing the raid of U.S. Private Vaults granted the FBI permission to seize only the business's computers, money counters, security cameras, and large steel frames that effectively act as bookshelves for the boxes themselves. Per FBI rules, however, the boxes could not be left unsecured in the vault after the raid had been completed, so agents had to take them into custody too.

In the days following the raid, federal agents were tasked with identifying the boxes' innocent owners so their valuables could be returned. This should have been a relatively straightforward process. It was not.

More than two months after the raid, Box 8309 (and its contents) is one of hundreds of safe deposit boxes that remain in FBI custody even though the owners have been charged with no crimes. The box is now at the center of a lawsuit filed last month in U.S. District Court.

But the story of what happened to Box 8309 after it entered FBI custody—a story told via screenshots from a video now entered as evidence in that lawsuit—should infuriate anyone who believes in constitutional limits on law enforcement. The screenshots, some of which are presented below after being obtained by Reason (see the rest here), show what attorneys representing Box 8309 and its owner say is an "illegal search" falling outside what was authorized by the warrant against U.S. Private Vaults...
